Volkswagen has announced that its forthcoming steel-roofed convertible will be called the Eos.
The Cabriolet-Coupe, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12, is named Eos, after the Greek goddess of the dawn.
The four-seater Eos, based on the Concept C (pictured) first shown at the Geneva Motor Show back in March 2004, is expected to cost around £20,000 when it goes on sale in the UK next year.
The car has a folding steel roof that can be converted from a coupe to open-top car in just a few seconds.
No pictures have yet been released but the Eos, which sits between the Golf and Passat in size, will hit British showrooms in May 2006.
