BMW is to launch a new six-cylinder diesel engine for its X3 4x4.
The X3 xDrive35d is fitted with a 309bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine.
The car averages 46.3mpg and emits 162g/km of carbon dioxide despite some pretty impressive performance figures. The 0-62mph time is just 5.8 seconds, and top speed is 149mph.
The car goes on sale in the autumn, with the standard 35d costing £40,205 and £42,225 in M Sport trim.
