  • 170bhp twin-turbodiesel for 607
  • Car costs £26,495
  • Single trim has plenty of standard kit

Revised 607

Peugeot's 607 executive saloon now comes with a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine.

Peugeot says the 2.2-litre HDi engine is the first twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel in a car. The engine produces 170bhp and 277lb of pull, but most buyers will probably be more impressed by the 44.1mpg average fuel economy, £26,495 list price and low company car tax due to CO2 emissions of just 170g/km.

The new 607 HDi comes with every option already added (including xenon lights, leather upholstery, a six-disc CD changer, sat-nav, electric seats and parking sensors) and fits into the range above the 2.0-litre HDi 136 and below the 3.0-litre V6 petrol.
