Mercedes has upped the power in its entry-level 200K Kompressor engine for its CLK Coupe and Cabriolet.
The new 1.8-litre engine now produces 181bhp – up 20bhp – and pulling power has also improved slightly to 184lb ft. The increase in power improves the 0-62mph dash by half a second in the Coupe (8.8sec), and top speed has increased 3mph to 147.
Despite the power hike, C02 emissions remain at 207g/km, and average fuel consumption is unchanged too at 32.5mpg. Prices also remain unchanged; the Coupe costs from £29,910 and the Cabriolet from £33,510.
