The dash, doors and steering wheel mix interesting shapes like those on the new
Fiesta with contrasting body-coloured inserts as found on the
Kuga, Ford's recently-introduced compact 4x4.
None of this is at the expense of the traditionally excellent Ford ergonomics, though. The gearlever sits on a ledge at elbow height, fresh-air controls with swivelling face-level vents are above it and topping it all is the stereo unit.
There's a three-spoke steering wheel with optional duplicate controls for the stereo, and you'll almost certainly be able to get plug-in sockets for a USB stick, an MP3 player or iPod and a mobile phone.
In fact, most of the things available on the new Fiesta are likely to be available on the
Ka, too – options are a good way for manufacturers to make money out of traditionally low-profit small cars.
