Volkswagen has announced prices for its new Golf small family car, with base models starting at £13,150.
That buys you a 79bhp 1.4 S three-door model, which is almost £900 more than the current entry model.
From launch there are three trim levels available – S, SE and GT – and a choice of four petrol engines and two diesels.
S trim comes with seven airbags, including a new driver's knee airbag, ESP, air-conditioning and electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors.
SE models get a swankier stereo with iPod connectivity, alloy wheels and cruise control.
GT-specced cars get sports suspension, sports seats, bigger alloy wheel and steering-wheel mounted controls.
The petrol engine line-up comprises of a 79bhp 1.4-litre, 100bhp 1.6 and two 1.4 TSI engines with either 120 or 158bhp.
There are two 2-litre diesels, with 108 or 138bhp.
You can order you new Golf now, with first deliveries expected in the new year.
