The 2014 Hyundai Genesis has been previewed in a pair of sketches ahead of its official debut next year.

Hyundai has confirmed that the executive saloon will be made in right-hand drive, but the company has yet to make a final call on whether it will be sold in the UK. Instead it is waiting to evaluate the market and the financial implications.

The sketches show a car with sharp lines along the flanks, similar to the i40 saloon's, and a large hexagonal single-frame front grille.

Although there are no pictures of the interior of the new Genesis, Hyundai says that it will focus on a 'Human Machine Interface,' to help make the in-car functions more intuitive. It has also standardised the symbols on the dashboard and says the feel of the controls has also been improved.

Any appeal in the UK is likely to be limited if Hyundai only offers the current engine line-up, which consists of V6 and V8 petrols.

The Genesis is set to make an initial appearance in Korea, before making its global debut at the Detroit motor show in January. A decision on any arrival in the UK market is due early next year.
