New Mazda Black special editions

26 July 2011

Mazda has launched two sporty new special edition models – the Mazda 2 Black and the MX-5 Sport Black.

MX-5 Sport Black
The MX-5 Sport Black is inspired by the MX-5 GT race car. It's available in a choice of three colours – green, white or red – and comes with a contrasting black retractable hard-top roof. There are also bespoke dark 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the MX-5 Sport Black has black leather trim, with contrasting 'sand' colour stitching. There are also piano black trim details, a numbered plaque and bespoke floor mats.

The Sport Black comes with the same high standard of equipment as the Sport Tech model, including climate control, a Bose sound system, Bluetooth and cruise control. At £22,995 it costs £360 more than the 2.0 Sport Tech model it's based on. Only 500 examples will be available.

Mazda 2 Black
The Mazda 2 Black is based on the 1.3 Tamura 5dr model. It adds a black vinyl roof, matt black 16-inch alloy wheels, front foglights, privacy glass and a rear bumper sports trim.

Climate control, Bluetooth and electric rear windows are standard; a numbered plaque and bespoke floor mats set it apart from the model it's based on. Three colours are available. 'True red' versions cost £12,395. 'Spirite Green' metallic and 'Crystal White' pearlescent versions cost £12,815. Only 618 examples will be available.
