TVR 'not dead' concept

TVR is planning three new models and hopes to double its sales, despite its decision to close the current base in Blackpool this summer.

In an exclusive interview with What Car?'s sister title Autocar, TVR's managing director, David Oxley, says the company wants to be able to make 5000 cars per year - more than double its highest ever output.

Three new models will replace the current Sagaris, Tuscan and Cerbera. They'll use revised versions of the TVR's own six-cylinder engine as well as an out-sourced V8. This drawing shows how they'll retain the curvy styling that has become synonymous with TVR.

There's no word on whether the ambitious plans will involve production of cars in the UK or not, but TVR owner Nikolai Smolensky wants to launch the brand in other markets including Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore.
