Following the launch of its V-Power performance petrol earlier this year, Shell has launched a new performance diesel fuel.
Once again, Shell is reckons its motorsport connections are indirectly responsible for advances in roadgoing fuel technology. When V-Power petrol was launched, Shell said that its close working relationship with the Ferrari Formula One Team was partly responsible for the new fuel. Similarly, Shell says that V-Power Diesel uses the same technology that propelled the Audi R10 racecar to victory at the Le Mans 24 hours race this year.
To begin with, V-Power Diesel will only be available in 31 Shell filling stations in the South East, and will be rolled out countrywide next year.
However, drivers who chose their diesel car to save money need not apply. V-Power Diesel costs 6p per litre more than regular Shell diesel at the pump.
