Renault, the company that invented the idea of the compact MPV back in the mid-1990s, will hit the UK with two new people-movers this summer.

The stretched seven-seat Grand Scenic comes along first, in May, to be followed by the shorter-wheelbase five-seat Scenic in July. There will no longer be a five-seater Grand Scenic as Renault seeks to simplify the line-up.

Both new Scenics have the same underpinnings as the Megane, including revised suspension and steering in an effort to tidy up the way they drive and make them smoother-riding for passengers. A lot of work has also gone into improving space, safety and quality.
