New Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic - Performance

16 March 2009
Performance
You'll be able to choose from eight engines, including a new Renault-Nissan 130bhp 1.4-litre turbo that promises to deliver strong performance with low running costs.

Average fuel economy is only a fraction under 40mpg, with CO2 emissions of 168g/km, while 18,000-mile oil-change intervals contribute towards servicing costs that are said to be among the best for a compact MPV.

The new engine, designated TCe 130, sits in the middle of the petrol options between a 110bhp 1.6 and a 140bhp 2.0 with continuously variable automatic transmission.

Diesel buyers are catered for by 106bhp and 110bhp 1.5-litre units, both emitting less than 140g/km of CO2, as well as a 130bhp 1.9 and a 2.0-litre engine that develops 150bhp with the six-speed auto gearbox option and 160bhp when mated to a six-speed manual.
