Smart's new Fortwo will cost £6900 when it goes on sale in Britain on September 15.
The car comes with three variations of its 999cc petrol engine, offering 61bhp, 71bhp or 84bhp.
Although visually similar to its predecessor, the car is actually 19.5cm longer, helping to earn it improved pedestrian safety ratings and improve rear-impact protection.
Stability control is fitted as standard on all models.
