The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible has been revealed at the 2012 LA Auto Show.
UK prices for the Beetle Cabriolet have been confirmed at the show, and start from £18,150 for the 1.2 TSI petrol model. It's available to order now and first deliveries will be in summer 2013.
Three petrol and two diesel engines will be available for the Beetle Cabriolet. The 2.0-litre TSI model with the DSG semi-auto gearbox tops the range at £26,485. A 1.4 TSI petrol and a 1.6 and 2.0-litre diesel complete the line-up. The 1.6-litre diesel is the most efficient, with CO2 emissions of 118g/km and claimed economy of 62.8mpg.
Volkswagen is launching the new Cabriolet with a trio of limited editions - the 50s, 60s and 70s editions.
The 50s comes in black, with a black roof, 17-inch alloys and a black or beige leather. The 60s is offered in blue or white, with a black roof and a blue-and-black or red-and-black cabin. The 70s model is available only in brown with a beige roof. The three red editions come only with the 158bhp 1.4 TSI engine.
Design and Sport trims are also available. Air-conditioning, a DAB radio and a spoiler are standard, while the Design adds 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth, iPod connection and leather details. Sport brings 18-inch wheels, cruise control, parking sensors and sports dials on the dashboard. Sport trim also includes lower, stiffer suspension.

The drop-top version of the Beetle comes with an electric folding fabric roof. The roof takes just 10 seconds to go from fully open to closed. It can also be operated on the move. Also standard is a cloth roof cover, with a chrome surround.
There's room for four adults and there's 225 litres of boot space – down from 310 litres on the Beetle hatchback model. However, VW says the rear seats have a 50/50 split to increase the carrying space.
To protect the rear passengers, the convertible Beetle has two bars that pop up behind the back seats in milliseconds in a rollover accident.
