New VW Golf revealed - Model line-up

Three- and five-door hatches will be available first, and VW has confirmed there will be another tall-roof Golf Plus for buyers who need more space.

There'll also be a shorter wait for the GTI than with the Mark V – the new one will be along next summer.

We've already seen it, and while it is relatively understated alongside some hot hatches, it is still easy to identify thanks to a honeycomb lower grille with Audi R8-like side strakes, LED lamps on the lower edge of the light clusters, a subtle rear diffuser and side skirts, and a roof-top spoiler.
