Toyota Corolla 40th

Toyota will celebrate 40 years of the Corolla in October with a new concept pointing to its replacement.

The 10th-generation small family car from Toyota is expected to be unveiled in concept form at the Paris Motor Show at the end of this month, although it may not continue with the Corolla name.

The new car's arrival will be just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Corolla, which was introduced in October 1996 and has become the world's biggest-selling model.

So far, 31 million versions of the car have been built, which, Toyota proudly points out, means 2160 have been produced every day, or 90 every hour.

Come back to whatcar.com at the end of September to see Toyota's latest concepts, and dozens of other new cars, in our packed show report.
