All new Nissan models will carry a fuel consumption gauge to encourage owners to drive more efficiently.
The gauge shows both average fuel and instant fuel consumption.
In studies, Nissan has discovered that drivers have tended to modify their driving behaviour and drive more efficiently over time, because they were able to see how much fuel they were using.
Drivers were seen to brake more smoothly and accelerate less aggressively, both of which can increase fuel economy.
The fuel consumption gauge will also be fitted to current models scheduled for face-lifts.
