The first Nissan GT-R supercars bound for Britain will be the most powerful yet.

Fine-tuning of the electronics on the 3.8-litre V6 engine has extracted another 5bhp, taking its power output to 478bhp. Torque remains at 434lb ft.

Nissan has also confirmed the GT-R will be supplied in Europe with bespoke Dunlop tyres and a new design of alloy wheel.

For buyers ordering now, the standard car will cost from £56,795, that's a 3.8% increase on the price when G-TR order books first opened.

Nissan says that customers who have already put down deposits will not be charged the extra.

The first deliveries will begin in April, although there is a waiting list for anyone ordering now until mid-2010.

Nissan has taken 2500 orders for the car from customers in Europe, with 1200 of those heading to the UK.
