Nissan unveils seven-seat Qashqai

07 April 2008

Nissan has unveiled a new version of its popular Qashqai model - the seven-seat Qashqai+2.

The car is slightly longer and taller than the conventional Qashqai to accommodate the two extra seats in the rear.

Nissan is aiming the Qashqai+2 firmly at families with more than one child, and says that the third row of seats will suit anyone up to 1.6m tall.

The two extra seats fold flat into the floor, increasing load space to nearly 500 litres - about 90 litres more than the five-seat Qashqai.

There have been slight revisions to the suspension and steering to compensate for the increase in weight, and standard equipment includes roof rails and tinted rear windows.

The middle row of seats has a 40/20/40 split, and styling tweaks have been made to the doors and side windows, tailgate, rear bumper and grille.

The Qashqai+2 will make its debut at the London Motor Show in July before going on sale in Europe in October. The new car will cost £1300 more than the five-seat version.
