A replacement for the Nissan X-Trail is due in 2013, but Nissan sources have revealed it will get a new name.
The new SUV was previewed by the Hi-Cross concept car unveiled at the 2012 Geneva motor show. A Nissan source told us that the production version will look almost identical.
The source also suggested that the new model won’t be called X-Trail, but will be given a new name, as part of a move to give it a classier image. The name has already been decided, our source told us, and it won’t be Hi-Cross.
The Hi-Cross concept car has three rows of seats and a seven-seat capacity, a layout that's likely to be retained - possibly as an option - for the new SUV.
