Mini Paceman review

The Paceman was the perfect ride for my long haul up the M6 to the South Lakes this week to help a reader taking part in our Personal shopper feature.

Around 560 miles there and back, and heavy traffic meant I spent a hardcore 12 hours out of 24 in the Mini. If it hadn’t been for its comfortable seats – supportive in all the right places, but mercifully not too firm – and wonderfully rich sound system (which thanks to my new Y-Cable I can now connect to my old iPhone 3), I would have feared for my sanity.

The other bonus was that I got to unleash some of the power Paceman’s Cooper S 181bhp engine – a real treat compared with the slow going on my usual lumpy urban commuter route.
