If you want to get your hands on Volkswagen's baby hot hatch, the Polo GTI, VW dealerships are taking orders now.

On sale May 12, the Polo GTI costs £14,785 for the three-door version and £15,385 for the Polo GTI with five doors.

Powered by a 1.8-litre 148bhp engine, the Polo GTI goes from 0 to 62mph in 8.2 seconds, a fraction slower than the similarly powered and cheaper Ford Fiesta ST, and has a top speed of 134mph.

You can also place orders now for the Polo Dune, VW's mini 4x4 lookalike. With raised suspension and chunky bodykit, the front-wheel drive Dune is expected in showrooms by May 12 and costs £12,645 for the 1.4 petrol version and £13,495 when fitted with a 1.4 turbodiesel.
