Hyundai ix35 1.7 CRDi Premium
Week ending June 10
Mileage: 10,940
Driven this week: 350 milesLast month magazine editor Jim Holder wondered whether a car can be too manly (his wife was struggling to drive the muscular
BMW 5 Series).
I think the opposite is true of the Hyundai ix35. Around town the steering is fine, but at motorway speeds it feels vague and light. You're forever having to correct it, with the slightest blemish knocking it off balance. Also, there's too much travel in the brake pedal for my liking. You never want driving a car to be hard work but I suppose I just expect car with 4x4 pretensions to be a bit more positive and, well, beefy.
