Our cars: Jaguar XJ 3.0D V6 - November

17 August 2010
Jaguar XJ 3.0D V6 Portfolio
Mileage 15,300

Since I took delivery of our Jaguar XJ I’ve heard nothing but heartfelt pleas from colleagues, who simply must have a special car for that very special occasion.

I can understand, because every day feels like a special day if you’re behind the wheel of an XJ. From the way the massaging heated seats ease my back and shoulders after a hard day pounding the keyboard, to the way the cushy high-speed ride simply melts away the miles, the XJ always helps me to see life in a better light.

I love the way it delivers adrenaline-pumping performance and the way it manages to scamper around corners like a mischievous kitten, despite its five-metre length.

In short, it always confirms that this is a car built by people who appreciate that comfort and refinement are key in a luxury car, but who still want you to enjoy the journey when the road is less than arrow-straight.

A recent trip to visit friends in the Netherlands simply confirmed the Jag’s immaculate capabilities. With the car loaded to the gunwales, the journey was broken only by a brief ferry trip across the Channel with P&O Ferries (www.poferries.com), because the Jag managed to complete the round trip on a single tank of fuel.
