A recent impromptu camping weekend offered our first opportunity to seriously test the CX-7’s boot. Looks like those swoopy lines come at a price, because we struggled to fit our paraphernalia and leave space for two adults and two children.

A quick look at the stats confirms it – the Mazda’s boot space falls short by more than 100 litres compared with rivals’, so we’ll be buying a roofbox. We’re also going to add some dealer-fit parking sensors next month which, in combination with the rear-view camera, should make parking a doddle.
