Peugeot 508 SW review

The 508 is soon to go back, but this was the first chance I've had to spend a decent amount of time with it. The big Peugeot did a great job of carting four people and their luggage down to Devon for a week-long holiday, remaining quiet on the motorway part of the journey and extremely comfortable, too.

The only thing I struggled with was the infotainment system. Not so much understanding the menus, because these were clear and obvious. Instead it was the sheer amount of buttons - on the dash, on the steering wheel – everywhere! Even after a week of driving, I was still searching for the one I needed.

I have to say, the cabin in the 508 is classy. The materials look and feel great and, even though you have to hunt about for some of the buttons, it doesn't take too long to get used to.

It's a shame, then, that the overly firm ride ruins the experience. I could feel every minor imperfection in the road, and even cat's eyes sent a worrying clonk into the car.

It's disappointing because, on paper, the 508 SW should have been perfect for my motorway commute.
