Vauxhall Ampera review

I'm thrilled with the way the Ampera looks. It is sufficiently different from 'normal' cars to make it feel special, yet not enough to make it look weird. The Ampera definitely hits this sweet spot, inside and out, particularly with the Crystal Red paintwork we chose. The touch-sensitive centre console takes a bit of getting used to, but once you're accustomed to it, it seems an intuitive way of controlling all the car's functions.

I'm still trying to work out exactly how much fuel it uses, but so far I've been getting about 35 miles on a full charge before it swaps over to the engine to generate power.
