Our Volvo has been largely still this week. I had to be in Germany for three days, so it sat in Heathrow Terminal 5's long-stay car park (we do things frugally here). There was also the wet-dry-wet bank holiday, when I didn't feel much like venturing out.
You'd think that as the car has been mostly static it would have been safe from harm, but no. Someone left an 18-inch scratch on the nearside rear wheelarch and door and scarpered without owning up. Looking at the height of it, I'd guess it was an SUV or a van. Do I feel homicidal? Oh yes.
When I start getting routine service quotes in the next few weeks I'm now going to have to get repair estimates, too, which means visiting dealers in person rather than ringing round.
