Paris motor show report - Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale

29 September 2010
The Granturismo MC Stradale on show here in Paris marks a couple of significant firsts for Maserati.

As you may expect, they don't have anything to do with practical things such as luggage space, but speed and power.

With 444bhp, the Stradale develops 11bhp more than the standard car, but uses the same, lovely 4.7-litre V8.

It's also 100kg lighter than the 'run-of-the-mill' Granturismo, so is even faster.

How fast?
The sprint from 0-62mph takes 4.6 seconds, while top speed is in excess of 186mph.

Despite that, average fuel economy remains the same as the Granturismo at 17.4mpg.

How much will it cost?
About 20% more than the Granturismo S, so budget for around £106,000 before you start personalising the car to match the upholstery of your yacht.
