Paul Weller designs Mini Cooper
* Modfather-designed Mini * Sold for charity * Based on Ben Sherman shirt...
Singer Paul Weller, the Modfather, has designed a Mini that will be sold off in an online auction.
The car a 2009 Mini Cooper has pink and brown stripes, with a silver stripe down the middle of the car. Ex-Jam leader Weller said inspiration for the design came from a shirt he designed for clothing firm Ben Sherman.
'I've always loved and driven Minis, so when I was given the opportunity to design a bespoke Cooper I wanted to create something that reflected the mood and colours associated with the Mod era, which was also the classic Mini's heyday.
'I'd already expressed these colours in a shirt I designed for Ben Sherman a few years ago, so it made sense to me to continue the theme using a Mini Cooper as a palate.'
The bidding starts today at www.paulwellerminiauction.com and will run for one month.
Proceeds from the sale will go to two charities War Child and Nordoff Robbins.
