Peugeot is introducing Sports models in its 107 and 207 supermini ranges.

The 207 Sport uses the new 1.6-litre engine that's been developed with BMW and also powers the latest Mini.

Developing 120bhp, the engine brings the 207 from 0-62mph in 10.7sec and to a top speed of 125mph. Fuel consumption is put at 46.3mpg on the combined cycle, so it's also a full 6.0mpg more efficient than the old 1.6-litre.

Prices do rise by £400, however, starting at £11,795 for a three-door car.

The 107 Sport is aimed squarely at young buyers and puts the emphasis on looks rather than added performance - it uses the same 68bhp 1.0-litre engine as the rest of the range.

Priced at £8345, it's £1000 more than an Urban model but includes racing stripes and matching door mirrors, sportier-looking alloy wheels and twin exhausts. Inside there's a leather steering wheel with red stitching, red gearknob with red-stitched leather gaiter and red finish on the centre console and air vent.

The 107 Sport is available in four colour combinations: white with red stripes; red with white stripes; black with red stripes; grey with grey stripes.
