Peugeot 206 may sell alongside new 207

Peugeot says it will carry on selling the 206 supermini in the UK as long as buyers want it.
It was already known that the old supermini would be sold alongside the new 207, just as Fiat is doing with the old and new Punto, but bosses now say it could continue indefinitely.
A far smaller choice of models will be offered, with buyers likely to only get a choice between the 75bhp 1.4-litre petrol and 70bhp 1.4-litre diesel engines.
Prices are unlikely to drop from their current starting point of £8195, however. That way, Peugeot hopes, the 206 can act as a bridge between the £7145 107 city car and new 207, which is likely to start at £8995.
The company hopes that this will also help to protect 206 resale values - however, buyers should expect the arrival of the 207 to put a small dent in resale values of the older supermini.
