Peugeot's new 207 supermini will cost from £8995 to £15,345 when it goes on sale on June 8.
Six engines are available from launch, but a new 1.6-litre petrol with around 170bhp is on the way, and will be used to power sporty new GTi versions of the car.
Petrol engines include a 75bhp 1.4-litre motor with eight valves, and 1.4- and 1.6-litre 16-valve units delivering 90 and 110bhp. The diesel range comprises a 70bhp 1.4-litre and 1.6-litres offering 90bhp or 110bhp. Five-speed manual gearboxes are used throughout.
Five trims are on offer – Urban, S, SE , Sport and GT. Every car is fitted with six airbags while all Sport, SE and GT cars get air conditioning. This is not available on Urban models, but it's a £550 option on S variants.
Three-door models are £600 cheaper than five-door cars. Convertible and estate versions will be unveiled later this year.
