Peugeot Partner range slimmed down

27 January 2006

  • Partner Combi range cut from three cars to one
  • Escapade model powered by 1.6-litre HDi
  • Turbodiesel performs better than old 2.0-litre unit

Peugeot Partner Combi

Peugeot has slashed three models from its Partner Combi budget MPV range to leave just one model.

Totem and Quicksilver models have been dropped to leave only the 4x4-styled Escapade available. It is powered by the company's latest 1.6-litre 90bhp turbodiesel, and is priced from £11,700.

Although the engine is no more powerful than the previous 2.0-litre engine, it has more pulling power, giving better performance figures across the board.

Fuel consumption on the combined cycle improves from 49.6mpg to 52.3mpg, while lower emissions mean it drops down two company car tax bands into the lowest possible 18% band for diesels. 0-62mph time is cut by 0.5sec to 12.9sec, and maximum speed is also extended by 2mph to 99mph.

Standard equipment levels are unchanged, with dual front airbags, remote central locking, electric front windows and a CD player. Options include side airbags at £170, and air-conditioning for £600.
