Peugeot reveals all-new Partner Tepee

  • Partner Tepee replaces Partner Combi
  • Outdoor version with off-road styling, too
  • On sale in June, but no prices yet
Peugeot is replacing its Partner Combi MPV with an all-new version called the Partner Tepee.

There will be two versions available - the standard car and an Outdoor version, with raised ground clearance and 4x4 styling.

The Partner Tepee is longer, wider and roomier than the old car and comes with a choice of five engines - two 1.6-litre petrol units (90bhp or 110bhp) and three diesels (75bhp, 90bhp or 110bhp).

The highest-powered diesel comes with a diesel particulate filter. All cars drive through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Trims and equipment
There are four trims, including the Outdoor model, but full details won't be released until nearer the launch date in June. However, Outdoor models have raised suspension, 16-inch wheels, a sump guard, grey bodykit around the grille and rear panel, chrome foglight trims, sill protectors, black bumpers and roof rails.

Cars can be equipped with up to six airbags, and all have ISOFIX child seat mountings on the rear seats and front passenger seat. There is also a tyre under-inflation warning system, a speed-limiter, cruise control, stability control, traction control and a hill-start assistance function.

All Partner Tepees also have two sliding side doors, and a folding rear-seat bench, or the option of three individual, folding rear seats. The middle rear seat includes two cup holders, and when folded flat, it creates a table between the two outer seats. There are also aircraft-style folding trays on the back of the driver's and front passenger's seats.

Other equipment includes the option of air-conditioning on some models (standard on many) or dual-zone climate control.

Practicalities
Boot space is increased from 624 litres in the old car to 675 litres with the rear parcel shelf in place, or 3000 litres with the rear seats removed.

There are also lots of cubby-holes throughout the car - there are 12 litres of storage in the fascia, for example, and 12.5 litres above the driver's and passenger's heads. There's more storage space in each of the doors, as well as in the centre console, under-seat drawers and under-floor storage areas.

An option to increase storage is the 'Zenith' multi-purpose roof. It provides nearly 80 litres of extra space through built-in storage lockers running across the width of the vehicle.

Prices
Prices won't be announced until the car's launch in June, when full specification details will also be released.
