Peugeot will reveal an array of exciting new models at the Frankfurt motor show.
As well as the sporty RCZ coupe, the practical, seven-seat 5008 MPV will be on show, as well as diesel hybrid concept cars that promise sub-100g/km CO2 emissions.
Hybrid4 concept cars
There'll be plenty of 'green' concept cars at the Frankfurt motor show in Spetember, but Peugeot's offerings will be among the most interesting.
The 3008 Hybrid4 and RCZ Hybrid4 are especially interesting because both have an electric motor with a diesel engine - rather than the usual petrol/electric combination. They also have four-wheel drive.
The 3008 has CO2 emissions of 99g/km, while the RCZ emits just 95g/km - despite a potential 200bhp power output.
Both hybrids have an electronically controlled six-speed manual gearbox and an engine start-stop system.
The production version of the 3008 Hybrid4 is due to go on sale in spring 2011, but production of the RCZ Hybrid4 has yet to be confirmed.
All-new 5008
The Frankfurt motor show will be the first public airing of Peugeot's all-new 5008.
The seven-seat MPV shares much with the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso, including the clever seating arrangement where the five rear seats fold up or down with minimum fuss.
The 5008 will initially be available with the following engines:
• 1.6-litre petrol – 120bhp
• 1.6-litre petrol – 156bhp
• 1.6-litre diesel – 110bhp
• 2.0-litre diesel – 150bhp
• 2.0-litre diesel – 163bhp
High-tech features include a head-up display that shows both speed and distance alerts, and 'Snow Motion', which is a traction control system designed to make it easier to drive on snow and ice.
Peugeot is also showing a 5008 with an in-car WiFi access point. The system accepts a SIM card and allows an internet connection to be maintained either at a standstill or on the move.
The 5008 is due to go on sale in the UK at the beginning of next year. Prices have yet to be confirmed, but we expect them to start at around £15,000.
