Police chief escapes further punishment

South Yorkshire chief constable Meredydd Hughes will not face any disciplinary action by his employers after being banned from driving for six weeks.
Hughes, 49, was caught travelling at 90mph in 60mph zone near Wrexham, in Wales, earlier this year.
He had two previous motoring convictions, and was banned from driving for six weeks and fined £350.
Since the incident, he has resigned as chairman of roads policy for the Association of Chief Police Officers, but his employers have said they won't take any formal action.
The Senior Officer Complaints and Discipline Committee's chairman, Charles Perryman, said: 'The matter was dealt with by the court.'
