Porsche is offering a new limited-edition version of the current 911 ahead of the launch of an all-new model later this year.

The Black Edition is available as a coupe from £67,270, while a Cabriolet will cost from £74,958. Just 1911 of the cars will be available worldwide.

The new Black
As the name suggests, the Black Edition majors on the colour black with plain black paint as standard, or a metallic finish available as an option.

The Cabriolet hood is black, while both versions also get black brake calipers, black lettering on the door plates, black leather interior and a black instrument cluster. By way of a contrast, the fascia strip, gearlever and air vents are finished in aluminium-look paint.

Under the bonnet
Power comes from the standard 345bhp 3.6-litre engine, blasting the coupe from 0-62mph in 4.9secs while the Cabriolet takes 5.1secs.

All the usual options are available, including the PDK double-clutch gearbox, Sport Chrono Plus pack with launch control, lowered suspension and ceramic brakes.

The Black Edition will be available to order from April, and marks the end of the current car. An all-new version of the icon is expected to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in the autumn.
