The Porsche Cayenne GTS will cost from £54,350 when it goes on sale in the UK from February 2008.

The car is powered by a 405bhp 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine, which has been uprated by 20bhp over the unit available in the S model.

A six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, with a six-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox available as an option.

The car records a 0-62mph time of 6.1 seconds.

Modified suspension and a lower chassis are said to improve handling. Air suspension is still available as an option.

Standard equipment includes traction control, four-wheel drive and active suspension management to smooth the ride and improve handling.

Interior tweaks include new front sports seats and additional use of leather and Alcantara trim.

The car slots into the Cayenne range between the turbo and non-turbo S.
