Under the skin
The Panamera is significant for not only taking Porsche into a new sales sector, but also for some of its technical innovations.

It is the first car in the world with an engine stop-start system linked to a V8 engine and an automatic gearbox. Porsche says it contributes to fuel savings of up to 23%, aided by comprehensive use of lightweight materials and careful tuning of the car's aerodynamics.

Air suspension that allows the driver to vary the volume of air in the system to change the ride characteristics, and a multi-adjustable rear wing are firsts on a production car, too.

The Panamera is also the first luxury car with a seven-speed twin-clutch semi-automatic gearbox and a Sports Chrono package including launch control for an uncompromisingly sporty drive.
