A powerful new 268bhp V8 diesel is joining the Range Rover Sport family of 4x4s.
The 3.6-litre engine is 80bhp more powerful than the continuing V6 diesel, and 3.3sec swifter to 60mph with a time of just 8.6sec. Top speed is also increased from 120mph to 130mph.
Combined fuel consumption is 2.1mpg worse than the V6 at 25.5mpg, while emissions continue to send the Range Rover straight into the maximum 35% company car tax band.
The new engine will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in September. Prices haven't been finalised yet, but if you're expecting change from £40,000 you could be disappointed.
