The new Alfa Romeo 159 has been priced from £19,995 to £28,195.
Entry-level 159s now come with a 160bhp 1.9-litre petrol engine, instead of the 1.6-litre unit offered with the previous Alfa Romeo 156.
There are five powerplants to choose from, including a 1.9-litre petrol offering 160bhp, a 2.2-litre petrol with 185bhp or a 3.2-litre V6 developing 260bhp. There is also a pair of diesels – a 150bhp 1.9-litre unit and a 200bhp 2.4-litre engine.
All engines are matched to a six-speed manual as standard, but a six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.
You can select from two trims. The cheaper Turismo specification has dual-zone climate control, seven airbags, a CD player with steering wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, alloy wheels and electric windows. Lusso models add leather upholstery, light and rain sensors, rear parking sensors and larger alloy wheels.
