The Range Rover Evoque is proving to be one of the most desirable cars to be released this year.
This means discounts are hard to find, but our simple guide to choosing the best trim and options will help you get your ideal Evoque for the best price.
Three or five doors?
This depends on your requirements, but the five-door car is cheaper than the three-door version and hardly compromises its rakish looks. Unsurprisingly, it makes getting into the back of the car much easier, too.
Engine?
The 247bhp petrol engine is potent, but the 187bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel is our pick. It has bags of torque, so it's effortless to drive, while also being on par with the best in class for economy and emissions.
Gearbox?
If you opt for a petrol engine the transmission decision is made for you – it's available only with an auto.
If you pick a diesel version, we'd still recommend the slick-shifting six-speed auto gearbox as an option. It costs £1610, which is about average compared with its competitors.
Trim?
Buyers can pick Pure, Prestige or Dynamic. Prestige focuses on luxury, while Dynamic majors on sportiness.
However entry-level Pure trim has most of the kit we'd want, including leather upholstery, climate control, cruise control, heated front seats, MP3 connection, DAB radio, Bluetooth and rear parking sensors.
Our pick
Range Rover Evoque Pure SD4 Automatic
Options?
Here are the options we'd recommend:
Metallic paint – £550
Panoramic sunroof – it adds a lot more light to the otherwise dark and gloomy cabin and most buyers are choosing this option - £790
Tech pack: Sat-nav, voice control, front parking sensors, heated windscreen and automatic headlamps and wipers – £1900
Total price £34,555
Our reviews are based on hard data and thorough testing in the real world.
