The first production versions of the Range Rover Evoque have rolled off the assembly line at Land Rover's Halewood factory in Liverpool.
The first car has been donated to the British Motor Industry Heritage trust.
Customers can order the three- and five-door models now – first deliveries are due in September. A two-wheel-drive version goes on sale next January.
Land Rover says that more than 18,000 orders have been placed worldwide. The Evoque is part a product plan in which Land Rover and sister company Jaguar will release 40 new cars over the next five years.
