Jaguar F-type

The Jaguar F-type is the spiritual successor to the company's celebrated E-type. The hotly anticipated convertible goes on sale in the UK from April.

It comes with a choice of two engines, a V6 and V8. The supercharged V6 produces 335bhp in the entry-level model and 375bhp in the V6S. The top-of-the-range version gets a 488bhp V8.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard on all F-types at launch. It delivers fast changes and can be operated manually using the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The F-type's interior is very much focused towards the driver. It is uncluttered and the perceived quality is very good. A central touch-screen operates most of the car's functions, while central air vents rise from the top of the dashboard to help maintain the clean lines.
