Seats that fail in an accident, fuel leaks and overheating engines are just some of the faults covered in the latest batch of safety recalls.
Mitsubishi has launched four recalls on a range of cars, while Land Rover is contacting owners about petrol versions of the latest Discovery.
The biggest Mitsubishi recall covers 242 Space Wagon MPVs built in 1996. The manufacturer has found that an engine coolant hose could detach and cause the engine to overheat.
Mitsubishi also wants to inspect 90 Grandis MPVs after it found the third row of seats could fail in a rear-end collision and cause injury to passengers. Models built between December 2005 and January 2006 are affected.
The remaining Mitsubishi recalls cover a handful of cars. Four Lancers built between 1992 and 1993 may leak oil, while the bonnet air intake on a pair of turbocharged Space Runner models made between January 1997 and December 2002 may fall off.
Land Rover wants to inspect 96 petrol Discovery models manufactured between May and September 2005, because fuel may leak. Owners may experience a smell of petrol in the cabin, misfiring and poor starting. Although a poorly specified pipe is to blame, Land Rover will have to replace the fuel tanks of affected cars.
