Renault Captur revealed

This is the Renault Captur, a new Clio-based SUV that's designed to steal sales from the Nissan Juke.
The Captur sits on the same chassis as the new Renault Clio, but it's slightly longer, at 4.12 metres, and sits a little taller in a bid to give drivers the more elevated seating position of a SUV.
The new car's front-end styling sticks closely to that of the Clio, which ushered in a new bolder family 'face' for Renault. However, the Captur gets a differently coloured roof that creates a sharp contrast, particularly from the side.
Renault claims the standard equipment list will be comparable with those of cars that are larger than the Captur; keyless entry, hill-start assist and rear parking sensors will be standard on all models.
No engine details have been released, although, given the Captur's underpinnings, they're likely to mirror those offered on the Clio. That would mean a choice of 1.2-litre four-cylinder or 0.9-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol units, although we'd expect the cleanest model – which Renault says will emit 96g/km of CO2 – to be one of the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesels.
The Captur is due on sale in the summer, after a public debut at the Geneva motor show in March. UK prices have yet to be announced, but we'd expect it to cost around £1500 more than the comparable Clio, with a starting price of less than £14,000. That would allow it to be positioned above the Clio in Renault’s line-up, yet remain competitive with the Juke.
