Revealed: Volvo's all-new XC70 - In the cabin

05 March 2007
Volvo promises that the new XC70 is bigger and more comfortable than before, and certainly the 48mm increase in rear legroom seems to bear that out. Front passengers also have another 30mm of shoulder room, and there's more room between front and rear passengers, too (21mm).

Boot space - always important in a big estate, and more so in one with off-road capabilities - is also better than the previous XC70. It's 55 litres bigger, in fact, which bumps up the total available space to 575 litres.

To extend and make the most of that room, the rear seats are split 40-20-40, and the front passenger seat can fold flat to accommodate long items. Volvo claims that three-part split rear seat, and the folding front passenger seat, means there are 16 different seating combinations.
