The Highways Agency is suspending roadworks for this bank holiday to try and relieve congestion

While we may be in line for a characteristically wet bank holiday this weekend, at least some roads will be uncharacteristically congestion-free.

The Highways Agency is suspending roadworks at 44 sites on England's motorways and A-roads this weekend in a bid to ease congestion.

Roadworks will be suspended on the M20 (at junction 10), the M11 (junctions 6-10), the M4 (junctions 15-18), the M5 (junctions 29-30), the M6 (junctions 1, 2, 3, 4, 12 and 13), the M50 (junction 2) and the M62 (junction 28-29).

However, works at a further 43 sites will remain in place over the holiday weekend for safety reasons.
