Saab is broadening the choice of 9-3 Convertibles by installing a 150bhp diesel into the range.
The 9-3 Convertible TiD cars are available in Linear and Vector trims, and will cost £25,370 for Linear and £27,664 for Vector versions. The engine is also available in the special Cerulean edition, which Saab is producing to celebrate 20 years of building convertibles. These cars are available in Vector trim and cost £28,439.
Power from the common-rail diesel reaches the wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy on the combined cycle is 44.8mpg, dropping to 38.2mpg for the automatic.
With carbon dioxide emissions of 169g/km (manual car), lower-rate company car drivers can expect to pay £87.68 per month, or £159.42 per month for higher-rate earners.
The new diesel is available at the end of February.
